Cool things this week: Headaches this week: QLPreviewController is locked even more in iOS 6.0. Xcode 4.2 will not inform you if the file owner is not properly set within a NIB. LLVM vs GDB Weak pointers have “magic” behaviour after being removed from a data structure (as they are released) OHAttributedLabel does not work well in a UITableView; multiple labels with different properties worked much better.

iOS Roundup: Week of May 14, 2012

Cool things this week: Christopher’s Objective-C helper classes: XTL, XTL_Framerate, XTL_Debug, XTL_DeviceHardware, XTL_ArcCompatibility. Should use UITextField for custom search bars rather than UISearchBar. Headaches this week: Blocks are handled properly about 95% of the time (ARC); however, a block is created on the stack and thus must be copied if it is to be retained for a later time.
