The Business of Apps: Farhan Thawar @meshconference 2011

Xtreme Labs’ Farhan Thawar, VP of Engineering spoke at the 2011 mesh Conference in Toronto, Ontario. Together with Kevin Restivo, senior research analyst on IDC’s Worldwide Mobile Phone Tracker team, Jerome Carron, Business Development Manager, Developer & Platform Evangelism Group, Microsoft Canada Co.and Ingrid Kelly, Director of Partnership Management at Motorola, they spoke about “The Business of Apps”.
The panel touched the surface of the topic, talking about building on the different platforms, importance of client involvement in the creation and development of mobile apps, and the functionality of HTML5 versus native apps. Agile development and integrating customers into all stages of development is important for not only building relationships, but also ensuring the success of the app.

“mesh was a great opportunity to connect with like minded individuals” said Thawar, “Mobile strategy and innovation in the field of marketing should be considered in all businesses, and I was honored to speak about a topic I believe in so strongly.”

“Canada’s leading online conference, mesh explores how the Internet is changing how we live, work and play. mesh is divided into four streams – media, society, business and marketing – to provide an overall of the key trends, issues, companies and tools. mesh is designed to be interactive and engaging with attendees being as much of the programming as speakers. With a few exceptions, mesh is a slide deck free event that encourages people to get involved, network and, well, mesh.”
